I'm Lael Plotkin, a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist trading as Lael Plotkin Speech Pathology (ABN 93 579 691 334). This policy explains what information this website collects, how I use it, and how you can contact me about it. I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What I collect through this website
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, who the enquiry is for, and your message.
- Email and phone: whatever you choose to share when you contact me directly.
- Website usage: anonymous statistics such as the pages visited, the device and browser used, approximate location, and how you found the site. See Analytics below.
Please don't include detailed medical or health information in the contact form. A short description is enough to get started. We can discuss the details privately once we're in touch.
How I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments.
- To understand how the website is used so I can improve it.
I don't sell personal information, and I don't use it for marketing lists.
Analytics and cookies
This site uses Google Analytics to measure visits. Google sets cookies and processes usage data on my behalf under its own privacy policy. This data doesn't include your name or contact details. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the site will still work.
Services that help run this website
- Web3Forms delivers contact form submissions to my email and keeps a short-term copy so nothing is lost.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security.
- Google Workspace provides my email.
These providers may store data outside Australia. I only share what's needed for them to do their job.
Clinical records
Information you share with me as a client, such as assessment results and therapy notes, is kept separately from this website, in line with Australian health privacy law and my professional obligations as a speech pathologist. I'll explain how your clinical records are handled when we start working together.
Keeping information secure
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Enquiries are kept in my email and deleted when no longer needed.
Your rights
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. If you have a concern about how I've handled your information, please contact me first and I'll do my best to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
